Briana is a Scientific Program Associate at the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research. Before joining FFAR, Briana worked at the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute, supporting the Department of Defense Medical Radiological Defense Research Program. She is a nature enthusiast eager to advance animal welfare, sustainable agricultural practices and environmental conservation. As a Scientific Program Associate, Briana is involved in the development and execution of programs spanning FFAR’s six Challenge Areas. She is particularly interested in enhancing the sustainability of aquaculture production, both to reduce pressure on wild fish stocks and lessen its environmental impact on critical habitats.
Briana received her B.S. in Dairy Science from Virginia Tech, where she served as an undergraduate research assistant working with dairy cattle. She will obtain her M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy at Johns Hopkins University in the Fall of 2019.
