Kashyap Choksi, Ph.D.
Director of Scientific Partnerships
As Director of Scientific Partnerships at the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR), Dr. Kashyap Choksi seeks to support FFAR’s public–private partnership model by identifying non-federal matching resources and partners. These funds supplement FFAR’s congressionally mandated funding for promising, but unmet, research in food and agriculture.
Prior to joining FFAR, Dr. Choksi collaborated with a range of diverse organizations on a spectrum of issues. Most recently, Dr. Choksi served as the Assistant Dean for Development at the University of Maryland, where he focused on alumni engagement and donor relations in addition to fund raising. Previously, as Director of International Advancement for South Asia, Middle East, and Africa at Harvard University, he worked on university campaign priorities in collaboration with central administration and faculty. Dr. Choksi was the Managing Director of Conservation International (CI) Singapore, where he oversaw business development, marketing and communications, partner relations functions, and engaged the public and private sectors to support field conservation programs in South East Asian countries. He formerly served as Director of Law Schools at Equal Justice Works in Washington, DC. Prior to this position, Dr. Choksi was Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at National 4-H Council, a youth development organization with programs in almost all counties in the U.S.
Dr. Choksi received a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from Virginia Tech, and a M.A. in International Affairs and a MPA from Ohio University. His degrees in Law and in Economics were both earned at the University of Madras, India.
