Communications and Grants Coordinator
Nyasha Osifeso has a passion for advocacy on environmental issues and interest in public policy.
Nyasha currently serves as FFAR’s Communications and Grants Coordinator. In this capacity, she works with the Communications and Legislative Affairs department as well as the Grants department to strengthen communications regarding FFAR’s grants and funding process. She also assists in educating the public and legislative constituencies about FFAR’s work and process by developing strategic communications for media and events.
Prior to joining FFAR, Nyasha worked as the Director of Legislative Affairs & Diversity, and Communications Coordinator during her collegiate career at Old Dominion University. As Director, she advocated for state legislation relevant to students, implemented diversity training initiatives amongst student organizations and founded a legal clinic at the university. As a Communications Coordinator, she managed the university’s social media pages and created strategic communication plans for the university Vice President. She also worked as a Summer Intern for the Federal Trade Commission, where she obtained legal secretarial experience.
Nyasha earned a B.A. in Political Science from Old Dominion University. In her spare time, she loves learning about different cultural dances and cooking ethnic foods. She fluently speaks four languages, with Mandarin being the most recent language she learned.
