Haley Hollen joined the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) in April 2020 as a development associate.
They are responsible for providing administrative and organizational support by maintaining donor records and aiding in inter-departmental and external communications.
Prior to joining FFAR, they spent two years teaching in Hokkaido, Japan through the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. Upon returning to the US, they worked in the Economic Section at the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C. where they served as a diplomatic aide for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries attachés. In this capacity, they developed an interest in domestic agriculture policy and administrative coordination. They look forward to applying their experience in international relations to helping FFAR support domestic agriculture development.
They received a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian studies with a concentration in Japanese language, culture and literature from the University of Virginia. In their free time, they enjoy biking and camping.
