Kat Junod joined the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) in May 2023 as a development research intern. In this role, she supports the needs of the development team through the research of potential partner organizations and current events in the food and agriculture space.
Junod’s interest in food systems stems from her passionate study of international development. At FFAR, Junod hopes to learn more about the various ways that food and agriculture research programs can improve living conditions both at home and abroad. She is also interested in learning more about the internal operations of a nonprofit.
Junod has pursued her passion for international development through her studies in international political economy as a rising senior at Georgetown University. She has also interned at the International Trade Administration supporting clean energy and cold chain industry development abroad. More recently, Junod has researched the effects of climate change in the Georgetown Anthropology department.
In her free time, Junod loves to run, explore museums and nature and tend to her extensive houseplant collection.
