Nyasha Osifeso’s early fascination with communication informed her passion for environmental advocacy and her interest in public policy.

She joined the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) in May 2019 as an Intern. In January 2021, she transitioned to her current role as a Communications and Legislative Affairs Associate. In this capacity, she supports the Communications & Legislative Affairs team by informing the public and legislative constituencies about FFAR’s work and process.

Prior to joining FFAR, Osifeso worked as the director of legislative affairs & diversity, and communications coordinator during her collegiate career at Old Dominion University. As director of legislative affairs & diversity, she advocated for state legislation relevant to students, implemented diversity training initiatives amongst student organizations and founded a legal clinic at the University. As a communications coordinator, she managed the University’s social media pages and created strategic communication plans for the University Vice President. She also worked as a summer intern for the Federal Trade Commission, where she obtained legal secretarial experience.

Osifeso earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Old Dominion University. In her spare time, she likes to learn different languages and she currently speaks four languages fluently.
