As Chief of Staff at the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR), Alex Hem helps FFAR advance its strategic vision and facilitates effective communication with FFAR’s board of directors and across the organization. He is committed to supporting healthy food systems and access to affordable, nutritious food.
Prior to joining FFAR, Hem worked in operations and strategy at AeroFarms, an indoor vertical farming company. Most recently, Hem spent two years in Abu Dhabi leading the development, construction and start-up of a first-of-kind agriculture technology R&D center.
Hem holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and public policy from Harvard University. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing sports, reading fiction and exploring Washington, DC.
