Carmen Ruiz is a partnerships and external relations professional with over 15 years of experience in the food and agriculture area across the U.S. and internationally.
As a director of strategic partnerships at the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR), Carmen builds partnerships for the Bolstering Healthy Food Systems Priority Area. In this role, she connects innovative corporate donors and foundations with groundbreaking researchers working on the intersection of nutrition, food production and health.
Before joining FFAR, Carmen served as a resource mobilization specialist for the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), building partnerships for biofortification through the HarvestPlus program. Previously, she was a partnerships officer for the United Nation’s World Food Programme (WFP) where she raised funds for school feeding programs and humanitarian food aid.
Carmen has a background in sociology and holds a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in international cooperation for development from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
