Dr. Chris Gambino joined the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) as the monitoring, evaluation & learning officer in February 2024.

In this role, Gambino designs and coordinates the collection, analysis and reporting of FFAR’s impact metrics. His role helps FFAR map and meet actionable results from research addressing the biggest food and agriculture challenges.

Throughout his career, Gambino has led, or assisted, food and agriculture sector needs assessments at both the national and state level. As co-director of Delaware Valley University’s Food Systems Institute, he brought stakeholders together to co-produce knowledge and overcome barriers to adopting innovative sustainable livestock practices.

Gambino earned his master’s degree in public administration from NC State University.  Gambino holds a doctorate in animal sciences from WSU, where he was among a prestigious cohort of National Science Foundation Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship fellows. While in graduate school, Chris also earned a graduate certificate in agroecology and sustainable agriculture from WSU. In his free time, he enjoys building Lego with his son, finding good beer and drinking great coffee.
