Heather joined the Partnerships and Development Team as an intern at the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) in June 2025.

In this role, Heather supports FFAR’s strategy through data analysis and research, developing key insights to build strategic partnerships that support FFAR’s innovative projects.

Prior to joining FFAR, Heather taught kindergarten in Memphis, TN, which sparked her interest in advancing food systems solutions. She also worked as an interpretive park ranger at Overton Park Conservancy, where she strengthened relationships with community members and corporate and nonprofit stakeholders to support fundraising and partnership goals. Most recently, as a graduate student, she has led several consulting projects for local nonprofits, developing operational recommendations to improve financial sustainability while ensuring affordable and nutritious food access in Washington, D.C.

Heather earned her bachelor’s degree in geology and history from Amherst College. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sustainability management at American University’s Kogod School of Business. Outside of work, Heather enjoys outdoor adventures, crocheting and playing with her cat.
