Kaylyn Kirkpatrick joined the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) as a scientific program associate in 2026. In this role, she supports the Bolstering Healthy Food Systems Priority Area and advances research that strengthens resilient food systems and improves human health outcomes.
Prior to joining FFAR, Kirkpatrick worked at the Brewers Association (BA), where she supported research grants and educational programs serving more than 5,000 member businesses. During her time at the BA, she administered a multi-year training grant through the Department of Labor, implemented a learning management system to deliver safety and quality trainings and served as a USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture review panelist.
Kirkpatrick also worked in Extension at Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, where she developed applied research and technical resources for New York State’s craft brewing industry. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Colorado State University and a master’s degree in food science from Oregon State University, where she conducted pioneering research on bioactive hop enzymes.
Outside of work, Kirkpatrick enjoys foraging for medicinal plants, mountain biking and exploring topics in psychology.
