Matthew Witt joined the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) as a grants management officer in January 2026. In this role, he supports the Foundation’s grant policies and grant operations throughout the grant life cycle.
Prior to joining FFAR, Witt worked at the U.S. Department of Energy, where he supported federal research grants that advanced innovation in clean energy and sustainability. Witt is passionate about serving meaningful missions involving sustainability, research and public service, which is what drew him to FFAR.
Witt earned master’s degrees in public administration and social work from West Virginia University. In his spare time, he enjoys football, golf and time with his family.
