Rhine Hazra joined the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) as a Partnerships & Development intern in June 2025. In this role, she supports FFAR’s strategy development, assessing current and potential partners.
Hazra has explored agriculture through her time in the World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) program and her semester abroad in The School for Field Studies’ Center for Sustainable Food Systems. She is heavily involved in her college’s dining operations, facilitating sustainable food procurement and automating dining data. During her time at FFAR, Hazra hopes to gain more practical experience in the food and agriculture sector and explore emerging research topics.
Hazra is an undergraduate student at Amherst College, majoring in economics, statistics and architecture. She is pursuing an economics thesis on digital agriculture in India and an architecture thesis on urban agriculture design. In her spare time, she enjoys painting and going on walks.
