Sarah Ahlgren joined the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) as a development research intern in June 2024. In this role, Ahlgren supports the identification and research of prospective funders.
Before joining FFAR, Ahlgren worked as an employment coordination intern at the International Rescue Committee where she led trainings for clients on their federal financial benefits and provided organizational support in maintaining the client database. Sarah also led research focused on the environmental, financial and social impacts of monocultures and their relation to the history of land use and colonization in Pintag and Mushullakta, Ecuador.
Ahlgren is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in international studies with a focus on environmental sustainability and global health at American University. In her free time, she enjoys running, spending time with her cat and experimenting with new recipes.
