Skyler Brown joined the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) in October 2024 as a scientific operations coordinator. In this role, she provides critical communication and coordination support across the Science Team.

Prior to joining FFAR, Brown worked as a Fiscal Specialist at the Washington State University Alumni Association (WSUAA), where she honed her skills in data management, nonprofit accounting and policy implementation.

Brown has also pursued various academic research interests related to food and transportation equity, culminating in her master’s thesis, which investigated the ecological and societal impacts of car-centric commutes and the variations in transportation equity strategies among several large U.S. cities. Brown has a strong background in environmental sustainability, environmental/social justice and ecological policy.

Brown earned a master’s degree in environmental sciences with a focus in environmental sociology through Oregon State University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Washington State University.
