Tools to Fight Food Waste in Schools – Adjusting to the New Normal

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF), in collaboration with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), presented a webinar on some of the tools and strategies to reduce waste that you can bring into your own school, classroom or kitchen.

A 2020 report from NASEM identified promising strategies for reducing consumer food waste nationwide, including experiential learning in school curricula. WWF has created a Food Waste Warrior curriculum to help teachers and students connect our food system with nature and provide hands-on learning opportunities to empower the next generation of conservationists to reduce waste.
