Vivian Peregrino

Vivian Peregrino joined the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) as a development research intern in February 2024.  She supports the Development Team with potential partner research, landscape overviews and weekly news updates covering critical food and agriculture updates.

Before joining FFAR, Vivian gained valuable experience as an undergraduate research assistant and a data science intern within the department of agriculture and applied economics at Virginia Tech. These roles ignited her passion for food and health economics, ultimately leading her to seek an internship at FFAR.

Vivian is currently pursuing two degrees at Virginia Tech: a bachelor’s of science in environmental economics, management and policy and a master’s of science in  agriculture and applied economics.

Vivian is involved in the vibrant student community in Blacksburg, Virginia. She serves as the President of the YMCA at Virginia Tech’s Student Council and is a YMCA program leader for Y-TOSS, the largest student-led sustainability initiative at Virginia Tech. Vivian is also a member of the Filipino American Student Association and American Cancer Society Relay for Life at Virginia Tech. In her leisure time, she enjoys cooking, pickleball, thrifting and spending time outdoors.
