In the United States, an average of 30 percent of food is thrown away. While there are many factors leading to food waste, efforts to reduce it must involve changes across the entire food system, not just individual habits.

The Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR), in partnership with The Kroger Co. Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation, hosted a webinar on reducing consumer food waste on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. 

The Household Food Waste Measurement Webinar included discussions on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the recent FFAR-funded National Academy of Sciences (NAS) report on food waste and consumer behavior, the impacts of reducing food waste on the food system and the role of public-private partnerships.
