Each proposal must include a detailed budget worksheet that outlines cumulative expenses and year-by-year estimates.

Current & Pending Support

Each proposal must include a list of all current and pending sources of support for the Principal Investigator (PI) or Program Director (PD), and all Key Personnel. Applicants must use the template provided with their application.

Biographical Sketch Guidelines

A biographical sketch, or biosketch, is an opportunity for senior and key personnel included in a research application to discuss the professional expertise that makes them qualified to conduct the proposed research.

Gantt Chart Requirements

Effective June 1, 2026, each proposal must include a Gantt chart outlining the project timeline by quarterly intervals and listing activities for each objective as well as anticipated outputs (e.g., workshops, report releases, publications, etc.) for each objective. Please use the following format for your Gantt chart:

  • Objective 1
    • Activity 1.1
    • Activity 1.2
    • Anticipated Output 1.1
    • Anticipated Output 1.2
  • Objective 2
    • Activity 2.1
    • Activity 2.2
    • Anticipated Output 2.1
    • Anticipated Output 2.2
  • Etc.

Intent to Fund Required Forms

Potential Grantees must provide all applicable forms in our Grants Management System to receive an Agreement:

  • Matching Certification Form (Attachment B)
  • Matching Details Form (Attachment C)
  • Representations & Certifications Form (Attachment D)
  • Wire Payment Transfer Form (Attachment E)
  • W-9 (Attachment F)

Matching Funds Certification Form (Attachment B)

If the open opportunity requires matching funds, grantees must complete the matching funds certification form. This form provides information about matching funders. Each Open Opportunity or Request for Application (RFA) indicates if matching funding is necessary.

Matching Details Form (Attachment C)

If the open opportunity requires matching funds, each matching funder must complete the matching funds certification form for the whole duration of the grant. This form provides information about each match. Each Open Opportunity or Request for Application (RFA) indicates if matching funding is necessary.

Representations and Certifications Form (Attachment D)

This form ensures that grantees adhere to the appropriate U.S. regulations while conducting research.

Wire Payment Transfer Form (Attachment E)

All FFAR payments are made via wire transfer. All grantees must complete the Wire Payment Transfer Form to receive disbursements.
