Six Groundbreaking Years at FFAR
As 2021 winds down, Dr. Sally Rockey reflects on her time serving as FFAR’s inaugural Executive Director before she officially retires in early 2022. Dr. Rockey highlights some of her favorite programs and achievements, such as AgMission, an unprecedented global collaboration of farmers, ranchers and scientists to expand adoption of climate-smart practices.
Dr. Rockey is a passionate advocate for investing in early career scientists. Under her leadership, FFAR established several scientific workforce development programs to ensure the next generation of scientists are equipped with the necessary skills to address future challenges. FFAR’s Board of Directors honored Dr. Rockey by renaming the Rockey FFAR Fellows program and establishing the Rockey FFAR Fellows Fund, which aims to ensure this program is accessible to all participants.
